Welcome to Boundary County!
Nowhere else in the Continental United States will you find the scenic splendor to match that of Boundary County, Idaho. The towering Selkirk, Purcell and Cabinet Mountain Ranges surround the county, providing an imposing border that changes with each of the four seasons. And embrace everything from ancient, pristine forests to rolling fields of grain, from tumbling streams and mirrored lakes to the mighty Moyie and Kootenai rivers.
Most of Boundary County remains semi-wilderness, most of the county's hundreds of miles of roads are forest trails and country lanes. While many find there dream homes in remote areas, the population of Boundary County is centered along Highways 95 and 2 and the Kootenai River, localized in the communities of Naples, Bonners Ferry, Moyie Springs, Porthill and Eastport. Bonners Ferry is the hub of Boundary County and it's county seat, and here is reflected the rural heartbeat of the community.
Boundary County is populated with people who still hold fast to old-fashioned principles of neighborliness, of people willing to help each other to make a better community. Indeed, the community relies on volunteers for many of the services and events that make life in the community unique, from the volunteers who organize and put on Kootenai River Days, the Boundary County Fair, the numerous arts and crafts shows and many other events to those volunteers of Boundary Volunteer Ambulance who answer the call when people need medical help or the members of Boundary Search and Dive Rescue who devote themselves wholeheartedly when someone is lost.
No matter what you may read, the only real way to enjoy the essence of life in Bonners Ferry is to experience it for yourself, first-hand, and then only if you visit not once but several times.
Welcome! Whether you're just visiting or planning to relocate here, we're happy to see you and share our hospitality.
